The B2B lead-gen workflow

  1. Find a high-engagement post in your ICP — a thought-leadership post by a CEO in your category, an industry event recap, a "we're hiring" post by a competitor.
  2. Export the comments — you get the full list with each commenter's job title and company.
  3. Filter to your ICP in Excel — by company size, role, or industry keyword in the headline.
  4. Enrich with email — drop the LinkedIn URLs into Apollo / Clay / Hunter to find email addresses.
  5. Personalised outreach — reference the specific post they engaged with in your opener. 5-10× the reply rate of cold email.

Other workflows

  • Thought-leadership analysis — pull comments under a competitor exec's post to see who's engaging with them.
  • ABM enrichment — for target accounts, export their executives' posts to find the buying-committee members commenting.
  • Event intelligence — exports comments under an event-recap post to map attendees.
  • Recruiting — when a competitor posts "we're hiring", their comments often include disgruntled current employees of other firms — your ideal candidates.
  • Sentiment on a launch — export comments under your CMO's launch post to gauge market reaction.

Public posts vs members-only / private posts

The exporter works on any LinkedIn post that's set to "Anyone" visibility (the default for company-page and most personal posts). Private posts (visibility "Connections only" or "Group only") aren't accessible without authentication. For private-post exports, the authenticated mode uses your own session — your password is never stored.

Plan limits

Per-post size scales with your plan. Free (no signup): up to 100 results per post. Personal: 5,000. Premium: 50,000. Business: 250,000 — see pricing for the full feature comparison and API tiers for the API-specific limits.

FAQ

LinkedIn Comments Exporter — FAQ

Is the LinkedIn comments exporter free?
The free tier (no signup) returns up to 100 comments per post. Larger comments and CSV/JSON require a paid plan: Personal 5,000, Premium 50,000, Business 250,000. See pricing.
Will LinkedIn restrict my account if I use this?
No — the public exporter never touches your LinkedIn account. It reads comments via LinkedIn's public surface. For authenticated exports of private posts your session is used read-only and at human-like rate; that's within LinkedIn's normal usage patterns.
Are reactions included (celebrate / support / insightful / curious)?
Yes — total reaction count plus per-type breakdown when LinkedIn exposes it.
Does the export include each commenter's job title and company?
Yes — both the LinkedIn headline (verbatim) and a parsed current_title + current_company when the headline follows the standard "Title at Company" pattern.
Can I export from a private LinkedIn post?
Only via authenticated mode if you have visibility (you're a connection or in the same Group). Public mode reads what's visible without login.
Does the export include replies?
Yes — replies have a reply_to column linking back to the parent commenter's name.
Can I export from many posts at once?
Yes — bulk URL upload on a paid plan processes each URL as a separate export and bundles the resulting files in one ZIP (one file per posts). Useful for ABM list building across multiple decision-makers' posts.
Will the post owner know I exported?
No — we read public comments without leaving any signal on the post owner's side.
Is there an API?
Yes — the same pipeline is exposed as a JSON-over-HTTP API on Premium and Business plans, with webhooks for new-comment notifications. See API tiers.
